SCC 08
The 7th International ITG Conference on Source and Channel Coding (SCC'08) is going to be held in the 'Stadthaus' of Ulm, Germany.
Ulm is located in the southern part of Germany in the area called 'Schwaben'. The large European river 'Donau' (Danube) runs through the city where beautiful, renewed old buildings meet modern ones. The conference hall is located right in front of Ulms main sight, the minster, which has the world's highest church tower. In walking distance, the quaint fishermen's quarter with many small pubs, cafes and restaurants can be found. On Monday evening a guided tour through the Old Town is offered to all conference participants.
Conferences in Ulm have a long tradition (ITG Mobile Communications '93 and '95, ISIT'97 to name only a few). Ulm is dedicated to science with many research establishments and a young university (with research on the highest level in Germany *).
We hope that you will take the opportunity to visit a few of the exciting attractions of Ulm and your stay will be profitable, both from a scientific and a cultural point of view.
We conclude with the famous German tongue-twister 'In Ulm, um Ulm, und um Ulm herum' which some of you might remember.
