Abstract

We consider feedback design for the integration of multiuser MIMO in cellular mobile radio systems. Feedback is based on preferred beam indices and post-equalization signal-tointerference- and-noise ratios (SINR). We perform score-based frequency-selective scheduling using 3 basic spatial transmission modes: single-stream diversity, spatial multiplexing and spacedivision multiple access. Test scenarios are based on single-sector measurements and on multi-cell simulations. While the sector throughput is slightly increased, more strikingly, the cell-edge performance is improved with a finer feedback granularity.
